The Plan Commission voted earlier this month to recommend approving special-use requests for two businesses in industrial areas.
Commissioners said they favor allowing Factory Bedding Co., 9619 W. 194th St., to use part of the building for retail display and sales under three conditions: a ban on outdoor storage and overnight parking on 194th Street and submission of a customer parking plan.
Motor Sports Unlimited, 18822 S. 82nd Ave., also succeeded in gaining the commission’s backing for a plan to repair boats and cars on-site.
Commissioners said the request is acceptable under these conditions: limiting outdoor storage to vehicles 12 feet in height or less in the rear of the property; upgrading the chain-link fencing with slats; and paving the driveways by July 1.
