Thomas J. Doyle, 78, died Tuesday of cancer in Mesa, Ariz. A retired engineer with the Chicago Fire Department, Mr. Doyle was a World War II Marine veteran. Survivors include his wife, Diane Bird; two sons, Thomas and James; a stepson, Doug Bird; two daughters, Mary Dahl and Catherine Ostrander; two stepdaughters, Kellie Doyle and Valerie Peters; two sisters ; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Monday in the Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103 St., Oak Lawn. A mass will be said at 10 a.m. in St. Denis Church, 8301 S. St. Louis Ave., Chicago
