Robert C. Karns, 53, formerly of Naperville, the owner of an employee recruiting firm in Chicago, died Friday in his home in Chicago. He was a native of Elmhurst. Mr. Karns owned Career Tech Associates and was part-owner of Dog Day Afternoon, a pet-grooming business in Chicago. He was a graduate of York Township High School. He is survived by his companion, Jim Sullivan; two daughters, Rita Krempp and Charline; his mother, Evelyn; two brothers; and a grandson. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the services at 11 a.m. in Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York St., Elmhurst.
