Scott Garrett has resigned as chief executive officer of Dade Behring, the Deerfield company formed Oct. 1 through the merger of Dade International and the Behring Diagnostics unit of Hoechst AG. He will be replaced by chief operating officer Steven W. Barnes. Garrett, 47, was previously chairman and chief executive of Dade International, spun off from Baxter International in 1994. Dade Behring makes clinical diagnostic products and systems for the health-care industry.
