Marion Grimm died Monday in Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Grimm was the wife of the late Charles J. “Charlie” Grimm, the manager of the Chicago Cubs during their last appearance in the World Series in 1945. A well-known singer, she starred with Bing Crosby in the 1928 movie, “I Surrender, Dear” and sang with Nat King Cole at the 500 Club in Atlantic City, according to her sister, Anne McGarvey. Mrs. Grimm also appeared in the movie, “The Babe Ruth Story,” which starred William Bendix. Other survivors include a sister, Gloria Wall. Services will be private.
