It’s fall. It’s the time of year when I really like being outside. It’s not too hot and not too cold. The leaves are turning. I love fall.

What I don’t love is the obnoxious sound bellowing out of gas-powered leaf blowers owned by people who are too lazy to drag a 14-ounce leaf rake around their yard for a few minutes. The easiest tool in your garage to operate is a broom rake.

Why are we so addicted to the internal combustion engine? It’s noisy, it’s a polluter (no catalytic converter on a leaf blower), and it is aesthetically vapid.

Please, quit ruining fall.
