Robert K. Rankin, 69, a retired roofer, died Friday in his Mt. Prospect home. Mr. Rankin was a veteran of the Korean War, and was employed as a roofer for Palisade Roofing Co. until his recent retirement. Survivors include his wife, Eugenia “Gene”; his mother, Mary; a son, Roy; daughters Patricia Reynolds, Caryn Forton, Christine Reeve and Nancy Polizzi; a brother; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mt. Prospect. Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Thomas Becket Church, 1321 Burning Bush Lane, Mt. Prospect.
