Tribune staff writers Ray Gibson and Laurie Cohen deserve kudos for their articulate reporting of the play-by-play action in the chamber of Chicago’s City Council (“Hidden agendas” series, Page 1, Nov. 2).

I’m sure China’s President Jiang Zemin would have been impressed with Chicago’s type of democracy and the effectiveness of prayer and religion on most politicians and public servants.
