Ameritech Corp.’s Ameritech New Media unit received a 15-year cable-TV franchise agreement from Schaumburg. Financial terms were withheld. The Ameritech unit, which will compete with incumbent provider Tele-Communications Inc., will provide Schaumburg 6 percent of revenues generated from the service.
