In regard to “Pilsen fears upscale push may shove many out” (Metro, Nov. 4), the residents have to understand that freedom is a two-way street. If residents want to move out, they cannot be restricted to a particular suburb or city neighborhood, and morally should not.
In the same regard, Pilsen residents cannot restrict anyone from buying or renting property and prohibit them from enhancing their home or business. So if the area becomes unaffordable, Pilsen residents will have to do what all other Chicagoans have to do–either move or increase their income. This is what a free society is all about.
