Willard A. Phebus, 81, a retired office manager for Ludwig Drum Co., died Thursday in Lexington Health Care Center in Lombard. Born in Berkeley, Mr. Phebus lived in Lombard for more than 50 years. He spent his early working years as an office manager at Miller’s National Life Insurance Co., before going to work for the now-defunct Ludwig. Mr. Phebus was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Estelle; a son, William; three grandchildren; and a sister. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home.
