Documents involving a police search of the vacation home of JonBenet Ramsey’s family will be made public, with some deletions, a judge ruled Monday.
State District Judge Richard May ordered the release of a search warrant and affidavit from a March 6 search of the Ramseys’ Victorian house in Charlevoix. They have spent summers in that Lake Michigan resort town for five years.
Blacked out will be material whose publication could set back the investigation of JonBenet’s murder or violate the privacy of the family and “third parties” whose names have not been disclosed.
JonBenet, a 6-year-old beauty queen, was found beaten and strangled in the basement of her family’s Boulder, Colo., home last Dec. 26. A ransom note found in the house said she had been kidnapped by a “small foreign faction.”
No arrests have been made.
