Marvin W. Bublitz, 77, a resident of Rolling Meadows for 45 years, died Monday in Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights. Born in Des Plaines, Mr. Bublitz was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was stationed in Italy and France. Mr. Bublitz was flown home after a leg injury for which he received many decorations from the State of Illinois and the Army, said his son, Eric Bublitz. His father started working in public works in Park Ridge, where he stayed for 13 years before becoming an engineer in the water department of the Village of Mt. Prospect. Other survivors include his wife of 52 years, Juliette; three sons, Elroy, Marvin and David; four daughters, Juliette Cangiolosi, Catherine Berlinger, Patricia DeWaard and Sandra Hitzman; a sister; 21 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Thursday in Lauterburg and Oehler Funeral Home, 2000 E. Northwest Highway, Arlington Heights, followed by a 1:30 p.m. service in Trinity Lutheran Church, 3201 Meadow Drive, Rolling Meadows.
