Tours of Milwaukee on motorcycles will be available next spring along with those offered on buses, horse-drawn carriages and other means of transportation.
“There are a lot of people out there who want to ride motorcycles,” said Harvey Goldstein, co-founder of the newly created Milwaukee Iron Motorcycle Tours Inc. “We think it will be a novelty.”
The tours are to range from one hour to a full day. Prices likely will start at $30 and will depend on the length of the tour and where it goes, Goldstein says.
Milwaukee Iron plans to lease six Harley-Davidson cycles and hire drivers to serve as tour guides.
Helmets, which are to be worn by both driver and passenger, will be equipped with headsets so the driver can talk to passengers about various sites, Goldstein said.
Harley-Davidson Inc., the cycle company based in Milwaukee, is helping the venture by providing liability insurance for Milwaukee Iron, Goldstein said.
