The Village Board has approved an extension to Lombard’s cable franchise agreement with MediaOne while village staff negotiates a new deal with the Elmhurst cable provider.
The board extended the current agreement, which would have expired Dec. 9, for 90 days after hearing a presentation from Susan Bisno, manager of government relations for the company. Village Manager William Lichter said Lombard staff is close to agreeing to terms with MediaOne, with only legal language remaining to be drafted.
According to a staff report, Lombard has been negotiating a 15-year deal with MediaOne since May.
