Daniel F. Mitchell 67, a technical writer and bank executive, died Sunday in his Naperville home. Mr. Mitchell wrote technical manuals for Portec Inc., Oak Brook, a computer-software company, and Nexgen Software Technology, Naperville, throughout the late 1980s and 1990s, said his son Daniel. During the 1970s and 1980s, he was a marketing and public-relations officer for Naperville Savings and Loan and Hawthorne Savings and Loan. Mr. Mitchell served in the Navy in the Korean War. Other survivors include a son Timothy E.; two brothers; a sister; and two grandchildren. Services will begin at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday with a prayer service in Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main St., Downers Grove, and continue with a 10 a.m. mass in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 820 Division St., Lisle.
