About 15 people turned out Monday to speak against a drive-through at Dairy Queen, 121 W. Ogden Ave.
The owner is seeking a special-use permit to add a drive-through to the fast-food restaurant that is already under construction.
Residents who live in the Washington Point subdivision, which is south of the site, said a drive-through would add noise and car-exhaust fumes to their neighborhood.
The restaurant’s owner said he would add a cedar fence and screening to buffer the nearby residents against the drive-through. The Village Board is scheduled to vote on the matter Dec. 1.
