Richard Hardesty, 64, a resident of Bartlett for 41 years, died Sunday at St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Born in Sullivan County, Ind., Mr. Hardesty was an operating engineer for 37 years before retiring in 1993. He was a 41-year member of Operating Engineers Local 150 and a member of the Elgin Masonic Lodge 117 A.F. & A.M. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Barbara; two sons, Ronald and Michael; his stepmother, Marie Hardesty; three brothers; a sister; a stepbrother; two stepsisters; and a grandson. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Salerno’s Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St., Roselle.
