So now the CTA is adopting one-person train crews that will give that one person an extra burden and multiply a stressful condition for the sake of saving $10 million of the yearly budget.

The lack of manpower on a working train could result in a fatal accident that could wipe out those savings plus more in a lawsuit.

Then we have the disgruntled riders becoming more irritated and confused with the new fare systems. (Not many happy campers in this group to begin with.) I would not be surprised, then, if that old standby in local transportation, the jitney cab, made a big comeback in some areas of Chicago.
