DeVry Inc. reported a 9 percent increase in total student enrollment at DeVry Institutes for the 1997 fall term. Oakbrook Terrace-based DeVry said that in November, 33,347 students were enrolled, up from 30,585 a year earlier. The company said new-student enrollment was 9,643, up 12.5 percent from 8,572 for the year-earlier period. DeVry attributed the increases to its computerized placement testing program, an improving business economy and a new campus in Alpharetta, Ga. DeVry owns and runs career-oriented schools.
