Mitchell G. Dredze, 85, a Deerfield lawyer who practiced law for nearly 70 years in Chicago, died Wednesday in Rush North Shore Medical Center in Skokie. Mr. Dredze graduated from Crane Junior College and received his law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law. He went on to practice civil law at several Loop locations. Mr. Dredze served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines, where he helped coordinate the civil affairs of the occupied territories there. Mr. Dredze was the past president of the B’nai B’rith Council of Greater Chicago, the founding principal at Hillel Torah North Suburban Day School and a board member of the Hebrew Theological College. Survivors include a son, Leo; a daughter, Edna Schrank; five grandchildren; a sister; and a brother. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Weinstein Family Services Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
