Edward E. Allegretti, 75, a restaurateur, died Thursday in his Carol Stream home. Mr. Allegretti began his career in 1950 in Wyoming. In the 1960s he opened food taverns in Chicago, including the Snug, the Quid and the Cordial Lounge. From 1972 to 1985, he owned the Captain’s Table in Waukegan. Mr. Allegretti retired in 1992 from the Inverness Country Club, where he was in charge of the bar. He was a decorated veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mary; three sons, Edward, James and Jerry; a daughter, Regina; three brothers; a sister; and eight grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Highway, Park Ridge. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul of the Cross Church, 320 S. Washington St., Park Ridge.
