Joseph Riff, 80, of Barrington died Wednesday in his home. Mr. Riff built homes and apartment buildings on the Northwest Side of Chicago for 40 years. Survivors include his daughter, Dr. Louise; a son, James; three brothers; a sister; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, and mass will be said at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Anne Church, 120 Ela St., Barrington.
