In reply to Arlene Perry from Glen Ellyn who grumbles about the high cost of downtown parking and lists a catalog of excuses for not taking advantage of the Metra trains: Stay home. We won’t miss your vehicle’s contribution to traffic.

I find the Metra train highly accessible, quick and inexpensive. If I am dressed up and don’t want to walk from the station, I take a cab.

Hence there is no driving in circles, frustrated and angry, whining that the city hasn’t made the situation effortless for me.

Walking can be part of the joy of visiting the city.
