The Nov. 9 story about the new tenants in the Convent of Our Lady of Lourdes parish (MetroLake) brought to mind another interesting fact about that parish plant.

Who recalls that many years ago the entire church was moved across Ashland Avenue, from east side to west side? In the process the building was cut in two crosswise, which allowed for an addition to be built in the opening.

I haven’t been back for years. I wonder if one can still see the area of the new roof that clearly defined the addition?
