The School District 10 board completed the work of former board members by approving a new three-year contract for Supt. Glenn Acksel on Wednesday night.
Board members last spring voted not to extend his contract beyond the 1999 fiscal year and to reopen negotiations. One provision some members wanted eliminated from Acksel’s agreement was an automatic one-year extension, a common part of a superintendent’s contract. The contract agreed to Wednesday contains no rollover.
“I’m very pleased I’m able to continue my employment with District 10,” Acksel said.
Acksel’s base salary is $117,979 for 1997-98, and he will receive cost-of-living adjustments for the next two years, officials said.
Acksel has been District 10 superintendent for 13 years.
