A 13-part public television series on developmental education for children will make its debut in January, offering information on raising children from birth to age 5.

“Millions of parents and professional caregivers will have access to high-quality programming that then teaches them the most effective techniques we’ve learned for working with young children,” says Scott Roberts, director of the Annenberg/CPB Project in Washington, which produces the series.

“The Whole Child: A Caregiver’s Guide to the First Five Years,” is hosted by author Joanne Hendrick, who wrote the text that inspired the series. The 30-minute programs were taped in 10 Detroit-area locations, including private and corporate daycare, academic and home settings. English and Spanish versions of the series are available for $295 or $24.95 for each half-hour program. Call (800) LEARNER.
