Patricia A. Graff, 84, of Naperville, who worked in Washington, D.C., and the Chicago area for the Social Security Administration from the late 1930s through 1954, died Friday in her home. Miss Graff, a native of Chicago’s South Side and a graduate of St. Francis Xavier College in the city, last worked as assistant manager of the agency’s Englewood office. She had refused all job promotions that would have required her to move from Chicago so that she could care for her elderly parents. Miss Graff finally had to retire in 1954 because of multiple sclerosis, a disease she battled for more than 55 years and which confined her to a wheelchair since 1978. She was a longtime active member of St. Bede the Venerable Parish in Chicago. She is survived by a sister and four brothers. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Brady-Gill Funeral Home, 2929 W. 87th St., Evergreen Park. Mass will be said at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church, 83rd Street and Kostner Avenue.
