Neal E. Hudson, 73, athletic director of Glenbard North High School from 1968 to 1983, died Saturday in his home in Hot Springs, Ark. Born in Noble, Ill., Mr. Hudson was a resident of Carol Stream from 1962 to 1983. An Army veteran of World War II, Mr. Hudson served in the 5th Ranger Batallion and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame at Eastern Illinois University and the Illinois Basketball Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Elks Lodge, the VFW, the Athletic Director’s Association, the 18th Hole Men’s Golf League and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Alice; two daughters, Valorie and Kathy Kane; a brother; a sister; and two grandchildren. A memorial mass was held Thursday in Hot Springs Village, Ark.
