The City Council Monday night will consider a revision to the city’s 1984 comprehensive plan.

In April, the old City Council, two days before four members and the outgoing mayor left office, approved a revision of the plan despite protests from affected Homer Township residents.

After Mayor Frank Mitchell took office, Lockport and Homer officials discussed their differences, eliminating almost every disagreement except density levels for new subdivisions.

Because the city never filed the document approved in April with Will County, the council has to have a public hearing on the proposed revision. Mitchell plans to call the issue for a vote after the hearing.
