Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Kudos for “Deconstructing 007” (Dec. 14).

Bond’s been my hero since childhood and I’m a serious fan. Next time there’s a new 007 movie coming out, get the Trib to sponsor a 007 trivia event. I competed in one in L.A. several years ago.

First prize was $25,000 and a trip to several set locations around the world.

The winning question/answer: Q. How did Bond disarm the nuclear device in “Octopussy”? A. By turning the face dial one-quarter turn counterclockwise (or was it clockwise?). I got 8th place.

Thanks for the “legitimate” caveat. I don’t count “Casino Royale” either.

But in the “Notable” column for “The Spy Who Loved Me,” I agree it had the best cinematography and production design, but how about that opening sequence with skiing, guns, and the leap off the side of the mountain? The best yet, with perhaps the “GoldenEye” bungee jump as the only possible exception.

Great work! I’m keeping the whole page.
