Amateur athletes will be able to work off calories from yuletide feasts when the third annual Holiday Hoops 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, sponsored by the Mayor’s Office of Special Events and the Chicago Park District, is held next weekend. The tournament will take place at McCormick Place-South Building.
For the first time, the Chicago Special Olympics will participate, holding a separate competition involving more than 500 Special Olympics athletes who will take part in team and individual skills contests.
