Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding have been keeping their distance for four years–and that’s not about to change anytime soon.
A published report that Kerrigan and Harding would appear together on a television show celebrating figure skaters from the 1994 Winter Olympics at Lillehammer, Norway, was “completely, factually incorrect,” David Krieff said Saturday. Krieff is president of Destiny Productions, which was considering producing the show for Fox Sports.
Representatives of the company, which has produced several shows for Fox, were in Vail seeking a venue for a Lillehammer reunion show. While there, they met with representatives of International Management Group.
Harding’s name might have been mentioned, but there are no plans to include her in any show, Vince Wladika, senior vice president of communications for Fox Sports, said Saturday.
“Obviously, a lot of ideas got bounced around. Was this an idea that was bounced around between Destiny and IMG? Possibly,” Wladika said.
“But the fact is there are a lot of ideas that get discussed, but a very minuscule amount that actually come to fruition.”
Kerrigan and Harding last appeared together at Lillehammer. That meeting came shortly after Kerrigan was whacked in the knee by an assailant at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in Detroit.
An associate of Harding’s was convicted in the attack.
