George William Bauerlein, 80, of Hammond, Ind., formerly of Wheaton and a former clergyman in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, died Monday in the University of Chicago Hospital. Mr. Bauerlein briefly attended Wheaton College and then served churches in communities such as Oak Grove, Wasco and Lansing, Ill., and Appleton and Dalton, Wis. He played several instruments, including the trumpet, clarinet, saxophone and the piano. Survivors include his wife, Lula; two sons, John and Lance; three daughters, Sharon Weinblatt, Mary Polansky and Faith; and five grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday at Wheaton Bible Church, Main and Franklin Streets, Wheaton, where services will follow at 3 p.m.
