IMC Global Inc. of Northbrook said its IMC Kalium potash business unit has decided against converting Potash Company of Canada Ltd.’s potash mine near Sussex, New Brunswick, into a solution mine. Potash production at the Potacan facility was halted in mid-1997 due to a major water inflow. IMC Global is one of the world’s leading fertilizer producers.
