James J. Cleary, 78, of Glen Ellyn and Naples, Fla., died Thursday in Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield. Mr. Cleary was a lieutenant colonel with the 106th Cavalry during the invasions of Europe in World War II. Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; four sons, Francis, Patrick, Stephen and Peter; and two daughters, Maureen and Rosemary; six grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. James the Apostle Catholic Church, 480 S. Park Blvd., Glen Ellyn.
