Richard Boyer, 86, a photographer formerly of Chicago, died Tuesday in Naples, Fla. Born in Chicago, Mr. Boyer worked as a photographer, starting with the New York Herald-American and Jam Handy, a Detroit agency for which he shot U.S. Navy war films. During World War II, he worked for The Associated Press and a British press service in Europe. Mr. Boyer later worked in illustrative and commercial photography in Chicago and New York before retiring to Naples. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ellen; a son, Richard Kim; three daughters, Jill Jennings, Leslie Hulbert and Sandra; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Plans for services are pending.
