Regarding your Dec. 12 editorial “Better ways to slam back”:

It is not only “a company you’ve never heard of” that is doing the slamming. We were slammed by AT&T. They called our business and said our long-distance service would be billed with Ameritech and that we would then have one bill and one check to write instead of two. They talked to me, and I OKd it. I did not know we had not changed our service from Sprint.

Ameritech will not change your long-distance service without your written permission if you sign an agreement with them. Then you cannot be slammed.
