A garbage dump next to the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, at the Joliet Arsenal, would be a desecration of the cemetery (Metro, Dec. 12).
It also would be a disgrace to Elwood, Wilmington, Will County and Illinois. A garbage dump is not compatible with a cemetery.
While it will be a dishonor to those buried in the cemetery, it will be a discredit to those who allow this to happen. I hope that Will County will not show this kind of disrespect to our veterans.
