James P. Caulfield, 81, of Elmhurst, died Monday in his home. Mr. Caulfield was retired from Argonne National Laboratories in Lemont, where he worked as a mechanic. Survivors include his wife, Clare Louise; four daughters, Dorothy Green, Mary Ann Hoffman, Jean Quaid and Patricia Walsh; 24 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother; and three sisters. Services will be at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday in Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 S. York Rd., Elmhurst, and will follow with a mass to be said at 9:30 a.m. in Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York Rd., Elmhurst.
