I was disgusted with the Tribune’s one-sided account of the recent Milwaukee post office tragedy (Main news, Dec. 20).
The article was replete with statements by postal workers and union representatives attributing the shootings, at least in part, to poor treatment of postal workers by management. Although the quoted parties were careful to indicate that they were not condoning the violence, they also portrayed the tragedy as the natural byproduct of management behavior. It would have been interesting to hear management’s response to this, but they were apparently given no opportunity.
Also, the same article quotes the NAACP as stating racial discrimination may have played a part in inciting the black gunman, whose three victims were white. Interesting speculation by the NAACP, but these facts could also lead one to the equally plausible conclusion that it was the gunman who was the racist.
