Columnist John McCarron cynically suggests that Aurelia Pucinski’s switch to the Republican Party resulted from political opportunism (Op-Ed, Dec. 29). I suspect that the switch portends a trend, as more Democrats realize that there is no future in the Democratic Party, which is steeped in corruption and scandal, for candidates who want to stand for morality and decency.
This may be especially true for ethnic Democrats, among them a very large population of Polish people, who can see that the only role for them in this party is as tax cows.
