Daniel Robert Hornstrom, 28, of Elgin, died Tuesday in an airplane crash in DuPage County. Mr. Hornstrom, born in Melrose Park, was a commercial pilot and a Navy veteran who had served aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt. In 1994, he graduated from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management. Survivors include his parents, Nels and Joslyn; his grandmother, Evelyn Galli; and three brothers. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday in Martin Funeral Home, 333 S. Roselle Rd., Roselle. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Willow Creek Community Church, 67 E. Algonquin Rd., South Barrington.
