Reading cartoons is an escape from reality–a time-out, if you will. Don’t like ’em? Don’t read ’em. As for me, I’ll continue reading about “Dave” in his relationships, the innocence of childhood in “Peanuts,” life from a dog’s-eye view in “Fred Basset,” the parental frustrations in “Baby Blues”–need I say more? I only wish I had a dog as entertaining as the one in “Mother Goose & Grimm.” Then my comic relief would last more than the few minutes it takes to indulge myself in the comics every day. Nice work, guys!
