The Village Board has decided not to draw up an ordinance that would regulate the exterior appearances of buildings.
Kevin Stough, community development director, said some residents of Waverly Avenue had suggested that Clarendon Hills develop an appearance code. The residents had objected to three houses on their street that were erected by the same builder, saying they look too similar.
But, Village Trustee Craig Lawless said it would infringe on residents’ personal property rights. Stough said it would also delay the building and zoning process.
