Kudos to the Tribune for the excellent biographical sketch of my friend and mentor Jay Miller (Tempo, Jan. 2).
Perhaps the finest tribute to Miller’s lifelong dedication to human rights and civil liberties is expressed by the late Dr. Martin Luther King, who wrote, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
