The Big Ten should seriously consider cutting back on its annual holiday bowling trips. The Midwest’s finest kennel club was two up and five down in the just-concluded bowl games. In the five losses, Big Ten teams were outscored by an average of 19-plus points. Over the last three seasons, the league has posted just seven bowl wins against 14 losses.
The Big Ten juggernaut to end all juggernauts, Michigan, barely beat a gutty, overachieving but not overly talented Washington State team in the Rose Bowl. And the Big Ten champion complains about having to share the mythical national title?
