If selection to the NBA All-Star team is based on outstanding play, excellent ability, hard work and hustle, great defensive skills, motivation of teammates and installation of excitement for the fans, how can Dennis Rodman’s appointment even be questioned?

Whether NBA moguls approve of his hairstyle, his clothes, where he hangs out or even his politics is completely irrelevant. It is rare to see players diving all over the court to save a ball or work so hard to get a difficult rebound. And how often do we see the vigor and enthusiasm with which Rodman has seemed to be playing night after night for the last several weeks?

So let’s forget about past transgressions and stop talking about whether Rodman is an All-Star. He deserves to be recognized as one of the greatest defensive players and rebounders ever. Craziness aside, his exclusion from the All-Star team would be a travesty of justice.
