Less is more. That’s the message from wedding gurus who are proclaiming the death of the overdone nuptial fete.
“Cocktails and dinner are now warm and intimate rather than the lavish and exaggerated affairs of the ’80s,” party planner Robert Isabell tells the January issue of W magazine. “They’re more refined. . .You sit down and have a great dinner and it’s peaceful.”
Loud bands and endless buffets are also outre, says wedding caterer Sylvia Weinstein. Instead: “Surround yourself with loving people. This isn’t payback time.”
