Catherine Bolger, 84, of Park Ridge, formerly of Chicago, died Friday at Resurrection Medical Center. Mrs. Bolger was the mother of 11 children, five of whom went on to careers in law enforcement with either the Chicago or Morton Grove Police Departments. She was also proud of her Irish heritage and often prepared traditional Irish meals at holidays for her extended family, recalled her son John. Her witty personality was well-known in the neighborhood, he said. “She was known for her Irish wit; it was appreciated by all the friends and neighbors. She was a classically witty person and fun to be around.” Other survivors include seven other sons, Owen, James, Gerald, Daniel, Michael, Thomas and Brian; three daughters, Kathleen Patricia Knight, Mary AnnSauers and Joan Bartel; 20 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Monday in Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church, 920 Granville Ave., Park Ridge.
